[Review] Star Wars: The Clone Wars Rebulic Heroes

Ooooh, a new Star Wars game. Sounds fun.

That’s what I thought before I played the game and realized it’s about as fun as watching paint dry. Sure, the game is more towards the younger audience but that doesn’t meant it should be any less polished then something for the hardcore audience, now that’s just rude.

The first thing you’ll notice when you start it up, are the graphics which are god-awful and at times made me wonder where my character is in the equally awful environments, the game has the graphics of a launch title, maybe even worse.

Is that my character, or a mountain?

About 5 seconds after the graphics you’ll notice the platforming elements which are unresponsive and frustrating, leading to multiple falling deaths. But at least there’s a helper, right? Wrong, the helper may be there; helping you land a jump but if you don’t jump from that one piece of land, you’ll do nothing but die. Again and again

So the graphics are bad, the platforming is bad. But wait, there’s more,
there’s Yoda, he’s over there popping up as a tutorial guide to help you out, seems pretty good. But the fact he comes in even after an hour into the game makes you hate him. If he came up when you were having trouble, that’d be one thing but no. he comes up constantly squeezing away what little fun you have of the game.

Will you SHUT UP!?

As if that’s not enough the combat is bland and boring and you sit there mashing the same button for hours, again because its made for younger kids shouldn’t mean it should be worse. But, alas it is and no amount of Jedis or Stromtroopers can make this game better.

I give it a 2 out of 5, and that’s playing it nicely
